How Does a Reese Revolution Sidewinder Lock Out

Question:

Basically the same problem as in your previous Question/Answer: How to Lock Out Lippert Turning Point Pin Box to Use with Demco Hijacker Autoslide Hitch Moving from Travel Trailer to Fifth Wheel. The Rockwood 5th Wheel Im focused on comes with a Reese Revolution = 5th Airborne Premium 5th Wheel Air Ride King Pin w/ Sidewinder and Turret at least that is what a Google search tells me . But, Ive also focused on a Andersen 5th Wheel Connection light weight, easy install/remove, etc. that converts the King Pin to a ball connector. Cant have two pivot points. Options? Solutions?

Helpful Expert Reply:

To lock out the rotating turret of a Reese Revolution Sidewinder, there are lock-out bolts that need to be torqued. These bolts will prevent rotation and the pivot point will be moved back to the truck bed. That said, I do not recommend using the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200 and locking out a Sidewinder.

You are going to have a much more comfortable, safe and stable ride using a traditional fifth wheel hitch such as the Curt A20 or something similar over an adapter that removes a fantastic feature like a rotating pin box.

I'd be happy to make a recommendation for base rails and a hitch that will work and allow you to enjoy the full benefits of an Air Ride Sidewinder if you let me know the year, make and model of your truck.
