Hitch Bolt for Yakima Holdup Hitch Bike Rack

Question:

I have a Yakima HoldUp with a 1.25-inch base. Im not sure of the year or model number. The threaded bolt to secure the tongue in the hitch receiver is about 3 inches long. When fully tightened, using the lock washer, the bolt only sticks out 7/16 of an inch on the side of the hitch receiver opposite of the bolt head. Thats too short. The groove for the safety clip is still inside the receiver, and the locking cap wont attach to the end of the bolt. It looks like maybe my hitch receiver walls are too thick. There are two layers of metal, and the exterior width is 2 1/32. The hitch is on a 2010 Subaru Forester. The hitch doesnt have a class number but the sticker says its rated to 200 lbs. Do you have a longer bolt that will work?

Expert Reply:

You can use Yakima Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip # Y8890200 for your Holdup bike rack. This threaded pin is shown in the linked measured diagram and video. Overall length is 4-9/16-inches. This will give you the bolt length you need for installation in your Subaru hitch.
