Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System to Lower Trailer Deck Height
Question:
Hello, I am trying to lower Emmy enclosed trailer 2inches. Currently the lead springs are below the axle. And the trailer has 15 inch wheels. I was thinking of getting smaller wheels but obviously that is a more dangerous idea when going up to speed and will jeopardize the bearings. Is there any other way I can lower the trailer perhaps with different leaf springs? Currently the trailer uses a 4 plate double eye leaf spring. I believe it is a 3500 2 3/8 inch axle. Also there is only about 2 inches between the top of the u bolts and the frame so adding a block between the axle and leaf springs may cause the u bolts to hit the frame which is dangerous I believe. Thanks!

There is a safe and effective way to lower your trailer height, Timbren 3500-lb Axle-Less Suspension Kits like # ASR3500S04. This bolt-on kit completely replaces your beam axle, leaf springs and hangers and it is designed with 4-inches of drop in the spindle height. You get lower deck height without compromising ground clearance and also a fully-independent suspension! Please check the linked video for more details on these Timbren suspension units.
The easiest install method uses 2 x 2-inch square steel tubing connecting the two suspension units which have an opening to accept this material. The Timbrens can be bolted or welded on. Please refer to the linked diagram to see how the Timbrens mount.
If your current idler hubs use inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649 then they will fit the included spindles. If not then you can use 5-on-4-1/2 idler hubs # 84545UC1-EZ which come complete with bearings, races, seals, lug nuts and grease cap. These hubs accept wheel sizes from 13-inches to 15-inches. We also offer these 4-inch drop suspension units complete with idler hubs as part # A35RD545. If you wanted to use larger tires you could do so to reduce the drop from 4-inches to 2-inches; there is no kit with 2-inch drop.
