Will the Advent Air Rooftop RV Air Conditioner Work with a Coleman AC/Furnace Wall Thermostat

Question:

I have a Coleman Mac ducted AC/Furnace, original to 2001 travel trailer. The thermostat runs the AC and Furnace. If I replace the AC with new Advent Item # ACM135 and use ACRG15 duct kit, do I just match connect wire color up at new duct kit and at wall for new thermostat? Will it continue to run both furnace and AC? If I decide to install Item # ACMHD, heater inside AC, can I either AC-heater heat or gas furnace heat from this thermostat? Thank you

Expert Reply:

In order to use the Advent Air Rooftop RV Air Conditioner part # ACM135 with the Ceiling Vent Assembly with Wall Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners part # ACRG15 on your trailer in place of the dual Coleman Mach unit you have now you would need to use the Advent as a standalone unit as there would be no way to communicate with the Coleman Mach thermostat.

Therefore, the Coleman wall thermostat would be used to control your furnace and the Advent wall thermostat would be used to control your air conditioner. Unfortunately, they don't really offer any plug and play kits for your Coleman Mach system. The Advent Air Electric Heat Strip part # ACMHD would then be controlled by the Wall Mounted Thermostat for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners.

You can use the Wiring Adapter # ACCOLKIT to install the Advent Air AC # ACM135 to your existing Coleman-Mach setup.
