How Does Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System # RVS-091406 Install In Vehicle

Question:

I have a 2018 Toyota 4Runner, and a 2016 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser 17RWD. I would like to install a rear camera on trailer for observation and understand the camera has to be wired into the car, though the monitor is wireless. My question is how to wire the camera to the car? I am also wondering about which equalizing hitch I would need for this rig.

On the vehicle side the Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System # RVS-091406 that you referenced does not require anything beyond just plugging the monitor into the cigarette light outlet. I attached the install instructions for this kit for more info for you to check out as well.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

I looked up the weight of your 2016 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser 17RWD and it's going to have a tongue weight around 300 lbs so the best weight distribution system we have would be the Strait Line kit part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range of 200 to 600 lbs and features the only and best sway control that works to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
