Would Husky Weight Distribution System Break If Enough Spring Bar Tension is Used to Level Truck

Question:

2019 GMC Denali 1500. 28’ Airstream FB 8000 lb roughly 800 on tongue weight. I was really torquing the bars in one of my settings to try to get the truck to level out. 40” rear, 38” front wheel well height is now 37” and 38” respectively. I am afraid to increase the adjustment mi without breaking something. U broke my Anderson chain distribution trying to get the truck level. I was forced while out of town to buy the Husky Centerline 8-1200 lb hitch. How can I get my truck leveled?

The Husky Centerline weight distribution systems like # HT32218 are much better at redistributing tongue weight than the chain style Andersen kit you broke. I am not totally surprised your Andersen had a problem since most of the time those particular systems don't work well with tongue weights as high as yours. The Husky system you have now can have more spring bar tension applied to level out the trailer without issue.

As long as your tongue weight isn't over the tongue weight limit of your tow vehicle you will be fine. Keep in mind that the weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle counts as tongue weight as well.
