Can Trailer Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity be Increased on 2014 Chrysler Town and Country

What might could be done to increase the Tongue Weight Capacity on a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country? Trying to install a hitch and Wheelchair Carrier. Wheelchair is 320 lbs. Hitch is 100 lbs. 420 lbs total weight

There is nothing that can increase the tongue weight capacity of the hitch on your 2014 Chrysler Town and Country, so your wheelchair and wheelchair carrier will need to fall within that range. However, the weight of the hitch itself does not count towards tongue weight capacity, just what is actually on the hitch.

For example, the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13364 that fits your '14 Town and Country has a tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs. So if the combined weight of your wheelchair and its carrier were 400 lbs or less you could safely use one it. Since you mentioned your wheelchair was 320 lbs, that would mean your carrier would need to be 80 lbs or less.
