Mounting Depth for Optronics Fleet LED Trailer Tail Light TLL12RK
Question:
Im rebuilding a trailer frame and looking at the optronics LED flush mount tail light. The drawing shows the overall depth for the light is 1 3/4inch without the wire pigtail installed. I am mounting this inside a 2inch x 3inch x1/8inch tube. Part of the lens protrudes outside the tube with the grommet. Would the light and the straight wire connector provided in the kit fit inside a 2inch tube without pinching the wires? If I purchased the 90 degree connector, would it fit in a 2inch tube? Would the Bargman LED light and 90 degree connector be a better choice? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Optronics Fleet LED Trailer Tail Lights # TLL12RK include a mounting grommet and straight pigtail plug and if you were to switch to the right-angle plug # A46PB and deduct the 5/8-inch portion that extends outside the mounting point you would still have about 2-1/4-inches of total depth. So instead I recommend using the steel mounting bracket # BK70BB which will avoid the clearance issue with the plug and also make it easier to access that wiring.
