Recommended Hardware for Thule Weekender Roof Box on 2005 Honda Element OEM Crossbars
Question:
We just acquired a Thule Weekender cargo box and have a 2007 Honda Element with factory bars. The u-bolts for the Weekender box are too narrow for the bars—can we get a different set or do we need to buy a whole new roof kit? Thanks!

You can use the Replacement QM3 - Quick Mount Hardware - for Adventurer Cargo Box # TH04997 with the Thule Weekender. This hardware kit is compatible with crossbars up to 3-5/8 inches wide. If you need to drill new holes in your box, then I recommend using the Loctite RTV 598 High-Performance Silicone Gasket Maker # LT37467 to seal the holes so you don't have weather issues.
