Green Light No Longer Shown On Reese POD Brake Controller

Question:

My POD brake controller green led doesnt light up anymore when connected to my trailer. I checked voltage at the connector the controller plugs into. Im getting 12v at the black wire. The red wire i get 12v when the brake pedal is depressed. On the blue wire i only get 3.5 v when the overide switch is activated. I checked for corrosion on my seven way plug there is none. My wire testinjg was done without the trailer hooked up. Used to work fine but now no led or brakes.

Where are you testing for voltage on the blue wire at? If it is at the back of the 7-way then most likely there is a short on this wire that runs up to the brake controller and it would be best to replace it with part # 10-1-1. However, if you are testing the blue wire directly behind the brake controller then you will need to replace your Reese POD Brake Controller as there would appear to be an internal short. For a new brake controller, I recommend the Draw-Tite Activator Trailer Brake Controller part # 5504 which is a similar time-delayed brake controller that will install using the same harness you have hooked up now which makes for plug and play.
