Can 6 Volt and 12 Volt Trailer Batteries be Wired Together
Question:
I read the question about wiring x2 6 volt batteries and x1 12 volt battery, and that makes since. My question is would I need to change anything else electrically? Converter? Inverter? Generator? FYI, my setup is x2 12 volt batteries that just can’t keep my residential fridge running all night. I get “maybe” 3 hours...”maybe,”

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as the 6 volt batteries are ran in series so that they end up at 12 volts and the 12 volt battery is then wired in parallel to them so that the 12 volts of it stays the same there is no need for any special adapters or converters. The picture I attached shows the difference in how the two wire up.
