Installation of SMI Stay-In-Play Duo and the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit on 2016 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I purchased both the stay-in-play duo and the brake-lite relay kit for the 2016 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport 2 Dr. I installed the brake relay kit and am installing the duo. The relay kit has you cut the cold side of the brake switch and cut and strip back the cut ends and the relay between the two by connecting the black wire to the side furthest away from the brake light switch and the green wire to the wire closest to the brake light switch. My question is that the LED brake lite indicator wire from the stay-in-play kit is supposed to go the the cold side of the brake switch also. Which wire should it connect to, the black or green or does it matter? Thanks for your help.

You can see in the attached videos that the green wire of the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 gets connected to the white wire closest to the switch on your 2016 Jeep Wrangler while the black wire gets connected farther away on that same white wire. The SMI unit # SM99251 LED brake light indicator will connect to the green wire of the relay so it will give you the correct brake light signal before that relay changes the signal for your vehicle turn signal which has the output on the black wire. I've attached a diagram to show you how the relay is wired to assist.
