Pin Box Upgrade for Lippert 1621 Pin Box That Can be Used With B&W Companion

i have a 2016 dodge ram 2500 sith the shorter bed.Have a bandw companion hitch,and was going to buy the reese sidewinder and replace the lappert 1621 pin box,but i read that i cannot use my bandw hitch,why

If your 2016 Ram 2500 has the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W and it mounts in the Turnoverball Installation Kit # BWGNRK1384-5W you cannot use a Sidewinder because the single attachment point for the Companion - in the gooseneck of the Turnoverball - creates too much movement and stress on a single point, potentially damaging the equipment or creating an unsafe towing situation.
That said, if your 2016 Ram 2500 has the OEM prep package and you have the fixed B&W Companion # BWRVK3600 then you would be able to use a Sidewinder. If a fixed Companion mounts in a truck's puck system it can be used with a Sidewinder because it has four attachment points; you will want to use Custom Wedge for B&W Fifth Wheels # SWW-06 and lock out the slider if this is what you have.
If you don't have the puck system you can still add a pin box upgrade with a cushioned pin box such as the Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC369535 which has an internal air bag to greatly reduce the amount of back and forth movement as well as bounce you would experience with a standard hitch, though it does not increase turning clearance like a Sidewinder. This pin box is the correct replacement for a Lippert 1621 and has a 21,000 lb capacity.
