Question:
In mn you need a vin number to sell the trailer with the boat but I cannot find it anywhere. It looks like at one time there may have been a label on the side but was gone when I bought it. Need some help?

Expert Reply:
In cases where a VIN can no longer be found on the trailer itself (you can try also looking along the length of the trailer's frame, both outside and inside, and on the axle for an ID tag/sticker) and there isn't one on your title then your best option is to try and contact your local state police or highway patrol. Through them you should be able to have the trailer inspected as new in order to have a new VIN assigned.
