7-Pole To 4-Pole Trailer Connector Adapter To Flat Tow 1997 Suzuki Sidekick

Question:

Okay, so maybe one more question...Since I'm getting a new cord I'm thinking I might want to change out the connector ends, the part that is permanently installed on the RV and the Sidekick. I'm not sure what you call them, receptacles? Please send me the part numbers for those two pieces and hopefully I'll be good to go. Thank you again.

From your photos you have a 7-blade connector on the RexAir and a 4 pin round connector on the 1997 Suzuki Sidekick. The blue wire in your photos is a 4 pin to 4 pin connector which will not work to connect the RV and the Suzuki. All you need is a 7-pole to 4-pole adapter part # HM47043 to connect the RV to the Suzuki.

I recommend Hopkins Nite-Glow kit part # HM47044 4-pole Round Pin Socket Plug to replace the 4-pole on the Suzuki. The Hopkins kit comes with the 7-way to 4-pole adapter cord (so you do not need HM47043) and the 4-pole plug with bracket for the vehicle. You can just cut the old plug off the Suzuki and rewire the Hopkins plug to your existing wiring. The wiring circuit configuration in the Hopkins plug is as follows: White - Ground Return Green - Right Turn and Brake Lights Yellow/Red - Left Turn and Brake Lights Brown - Tail Lights You want to test the wiring on the front of the Suzuki for function to ensure you are connecting the wires to the correct circuits in the plug because the colors may not be the same. To replace the 7-way plug on the RV, I recommend Pollak 7-Pole RV-style trailer socket part # PK12703. The same applies for the RV side, cut the plug off and test the wires on the RV for function then wire the plug with the corresponding circuits on the plug. I have attached the circuit colors and recommended wire gauge below. Color - circuit - recommended wire gauge: White - Ground - 10 gauge- Blue - Electric Brake - 12 gauge Green - Tail, License and Running Lights - 14 gauge Black - Battery Charge - 10 gauge Red - Stop and Left-Hand Turn Signal - 14 gauge Brown - Stop and Right-Hand Turn Signal - 14 gauge Yellow - Auxiliary Circuit - 14 gauge
