Towing Capacity of 2006 Ford F-150 4x2 Regular Cab 4.6L V8, 3.55 Axle Ratio and 144-inch Wheelbase

Question:

I am trying to figure out the towing capacity of my truck. The owners manual says 6700lbs w/max GCWR of 11700lb with a 3.55 rear axle ratio with the 4.6L V8 engine. The trailer Im trying to tow has an GVWR of 4531KG and GAWR 2359KG per axle. Before I hook anything up I wanted to seek more experience and guidance so that I wont mess my truck up. Enclosed are pics of both the truck and trailer info.

Your trailer's information sticker shows a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 9990-lbs. This is the very most that this trailer can weigh when it is loaded.

The Ford online towing guide does show that a 2006 F-150 4x2 regular cab with 4.6L V8, 3.55 axle ratio and 144-inch wheelbase can tow a conventional trailer up to a maximum of 6700-lbs, just as you said.

So your truck can tow this trailer provided the weight of the trailer and all of its contents weigh less than 6700 pounds.
