Does Battery Need to be Disconnected to Install Roadmaster Flex-Coil Wiring Kit on 2019 Sierra 2500

Question:

is it possible to use this system without disconnecting the battery, or what system could I use and not disconnect the batt. . It would seem the diode stop back feeding the truck.

The Roadmaster Diode Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247 that you referenced will simply tap into the tail light circuits on your 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 so they can be powered in correspondence with the RV while flat towing. The installation of this system does not require the battery to be disconnected, but the owner's manual for your Sierra requires that this be done to flat tow the truck which is why we have it mentioned in our fit guide.

GMC requires this so that the battery doesn't drain during travel. I do recommend following this and any other guidelines listed in the truck's owner's manual as going against them may void the manufacture's warranty if anything were to go wrong.

To help ease this process you can use the Roadmaster # RM-766 which will allow you to disconnect the battery with the flip of a switch from inside the cab. I have attached an install video on the 2017 Sierra that you can use for reference.
