Will Curt Trailer Hitch Lower 2013 Honda Accord

Question:

I had a Curt hitch installed on my 2013 Honda Accord. It appears to ride lower in the back now than in the front, whereas, before the ride was pretty even. Will this harm the transmission? Also, should I add rear shock absorbers to raise the rear back to where it was?

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11681 weighs about 25 lbs and should not lower your 2013 Honda Accord's rear in any type of noticeable manner; 25 lbs is less than one percent of the vehicle's weight. If you are carrying a heavier bike rack like the 51 lb Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH23JV and pushing the rack's 100 lb weight limit (and the 200 lb tongue weight limit of the hitch) then that load may cause it to ride ever so slightly lower, but it will not harm your transmission at all.

If there is some type of suspension enhancement available for your '13 Accord (we do not carry any unfortunately) it certainly cannot hurt and may give you the result you are looking for.
