Can Blue Ox Flat Towing Setup from 2015 Chevy Malibu be Used to Flat Tow 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

We already have a blue ox towing kit on our 2010 Fleetwood Southwind motorhome. We are towing a chevy malibu 2015. We need to change our vehicle. We are planning to buy a 2015 or 2016 jeep grand cherokee. Would we be able to use some of the same fixtures?

At the very least you'll be able to reuse the Blue Ox tow bar you have but the rest of the setup will depend on what you have to some degree. The base plate kit will need to be replaced for sure since those are vehicle specific. The braking most likely can be reused but it would either be a simple swap or a more involved one depending on the kit. This is also true for the wiring as well. If you can get back to me with all of the components you have I can then determine what best course of action would be.

The base plate kit you for sure will need is the part # BX1128 which I attached an install video for.
