Replacement Motor, Controller, and Gear Plate for Coach Steps 171317
Question:
I have a 2011 Hurricane with a Coach Step 171317 that has failed. The unit is the old style with the exposed gear and the straight arm that operates the step. Will the Lippert upgrade kit work in my step unit? Rather than just replace a motor or gear, I would prefer to upgrade the unit to the more modern curved arm, etc. Will the upgrade kit simply bolt into all the existing holes, etc?

Expert Reply:
I do have replacement parts for you but I called Lippert and they said that there is not an upgrade kit for any of the Coach Steps. Therefore, you can either replace the damaged components or upgrade the steps entirely to the new Lippert Kwikee 32 Series Electric Step part # LC372261. If not the replacement parts you need are as follows:
Motor - part # LC301695
Controller - part # LC301702
Gear Plate - part # LC301696
