Replacement Bearings for a 1982 Shoreline Trailer

Question:

I have a 1982 Shoreline trailer that has a 1YR 0307 serial number. I believe this was originally possibly built by Yarborough which may have been bought by Shoreline. It is a single axle trailer with 13 inch 5 lug wheels. The boat is stored in Mexico with the 17 ft Boston Whaler it originally came with. I want to bring it back to Wyoming but fear putting it on the road without a spare set of bearings and seals. Can you tell me what size bearings I should purchase to replace the originals?

I do have an option for you but I cannot give you exact bearing numbers for your trailer unless provided with spindle measurements or the trailer's VIN (if the manufacturer is still in business). I can however tell you that the two most common axles capacities that a 5 on 4-1/2" hub and 13" diameter wheels are used with is 2,000 lbs and 3,500 lbs. The correct replacement bearing kits for these axles are most likely part # BK1-100 for 2,000 lb axles or part # BK2-100 for 3,500 lb axles. If you want you can purchase both kits and hope one will work for you but again there is only one for sure way which is to measure or find the VIN and call the manufacturer.

I have attached an article on measuring the spindle for you but as the trailer is not in your possession I understand if this will be difficult to obtain but frankly we just don't have many options.
