Will the Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 Interfere with Liftgate when Installed on 2007 or Newer Tahoe
Question:
Any idea if this would interfere with liftgate operation on a 2007 or newer Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon when empty?

Expert Reply:
Due to the 12-3/4 inch distance from the hitch pin hole, the closest portion of the Reese Cargo Carrier, part # 63153 would be far enough away from the liftgate that it will not interfere with opening it. As you said, having items on the carrier might prevent the liftgate from opening. Additionally, the top of the carrier would sit 8 inches above the hitch. That is the 2-1/2 inch rise in the shank plus the 5-1/2 inch side rails. You might want to check that measure as well.
If your tail lights are obscured by the carrier once it is loaded, you might want to consider a light kit. Kits are available in incandescent, part # 20174 or LED, part # 98174LED.
A locking hitch pin like part # e98882 and a cargo bag like part # e98990 are also available.
