Question:
Just got a 7-Way to 5-Wire Flat/4-Wire Flat and 12-V Power Socket Hopkins Wiring product code# HM47675 for Christmas all turn and brake lights work on the 4/5 wire connectors, but no power to the 12v side I checked all fuses and all good, any ideas how to get the 12v socket hot?

There are some connections that need to be made under the hood of your 2008 Chevy Silverado to make the towing package, including the 12 volt hot lead, working.
I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains what you will need to do. You will need the section about half way down the page titled Finalizing Connections for the Brake Controller. The fuses may already be there (if not you will need to add them) but without the wires connected to the terminals the tow package will not be fully functional.
