Will the Yakima DoubleDown 4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2012 Ford Edge
Question:
2012 Ford Edge and Yakima Doubledown 4 bike rack. I am wondering what the measurement in inches is from the larger center hole on the receiver to just past the ford edge fascia or outer most of the bumper. I need to be sure I have a long enough tounge on my bike rack to clear the space. Learning from experience with my last vehicle I didnt and had to buy an extension for the hitch which created more sway with the rack and rubbing of paint on the bumper from the bikes. I printed the install instructions and there is a detaile drawing of the area I am inquiring about but no measurements.

When we installed Curt trailer hitch # C13067 on a 2012 Ford Edge the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to clear the rear bumper was 4-1/4 inches. Based on this the Yakima DoubleDown bike carrier will fit! I have linked a video showing installation of the hitch for you.
