Brake Controller and Self-Adjusting Brake Assemblies for Trailer
Question:
It states you need a brake controller, if your brakes are already electric and manual adjust, do you need a controller, I just want self adjusting.

With any electric trailer brakes you will need a trailer brake controller. Many newer trucks come with an integrated electric brake controller from the factory so if you have that, you won't need to add an additional controller.
If you have a 7-way trailer connector but no controller, the easiest controller to add is the Curt Echo # C51180.
For your Self-Adjusting brake assemblies, there are two different sizes. If you have 12 inch diameter hubs then you will use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA. If you have 10 inch diameter hubs, then you will use # AKEBRK-35-SA. These assemblies automatically adjust as the brake shoes wear to give you the best braking power.
