Why Wouldn't Camper Trailer Interior Lighting Work When Not Connected to Campground Power Source
Question:
I have a 1994 Coleman pop up. My 120 V house power runs the interior lights and all outlets without problems when connected to shore power. When I connect to my truck....the brake lights etc ALL work but when connected to the truck, the interior lights dont work even if connected to the truck and the converter set to battery Is that normal?? Id like to connect the truck to use the lights or the outlets from time to time but I think Id have to wire in an external battery?....thanks for any advice

Sounds like there are some wiring connections not made. To power your 120 volt style interior lights from a battery you will need to have the wiring ran from the battery to the inverter and then to the lighting. You'll have to go over the wiring of the lighting to see if it is also ran to a battery or inverter.
The brake lights of the trailer are on a totally different circuit.
