Comparing Roadmaster Base Plates for 2019 Chevy Equinox
Question:
What is the difference between RM 523193-5 and RM 523193-4 ? I have 2019 Chev Equinox AWD with 2.0 Turbo engine. I have a Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar. Is one better than the other for the Equinox? Thanks

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-523193-5 will simply connect to your Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar # RM-520 directly instead of utilizing the crossbar between the tabs on each side of your Equinox. The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-523193-4 will connect to your tow bar utilizing the crossbar between the tabs.
One style is not better than the other as far as function and fit so it mostly comes down to preference. The only benefit of the crossbar style system is you can use a road shield like # RM-4000 as it requires that crossbar for mounting. Either option can use the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4750 which will have a similar benefit of protecting the front of your Equinox from road debris.
