Does Rhino Rack Roof Rack for 2011 Chevy Equinox Allow Water to Enter Vehicle

Question:

Hi. My vehicle is a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and it has a bare roof no side rails or cross rails. My question is regarding the fitment of the metal clamps to the door frame. There is weather stripping around the door, and I was wondering if you could tell me if this unit will interfere with the function of that weather stripping. For example, if it’s left on the vehicle will the clamps disturb the weather stripping, leaving a gap for water or snow to come in? Thanks!

The Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK226 that you referenced for your 2011 Chevy Equinox would not cause issues with rain or snow getting into the interior of your vehicle. The clamps of the rack attach to the door frame above where the weatherstripping meets the door frame so it does not affect the seals ability to prevent water from entering the vehicle.

I attached an install video for this rack on a similar Equinox for you to check out as well.
