Is Weak Pulsing on Trailer Brake Controller Output Pin Normal

Question:

2013 Ford F-350. 2015 5th wheel. Disc brakes installed 2017. I have truck set to EOH brakes. About 2 months ago, the titan actuator started pulsing. Actuator works normally when brake pedal pushed or when Breakaway is pulled. Put a test light on the truck plug. Noticed a weak regular pulsing signal on the brake pin. I suspect a problem with the truck but Ford dealer says everything is ok and weak pulse in the brake pin in normal. Appreciate advice.

The weak pulsing you are seeing is normal on the output pin of the connector. That pulse is actually your brake controller constantly testing to see if a trailer is connected. Basically it's looking for a low amperage draw when it applies the voltage which tells the controller it's actually connected to a trailer and to start operating the trailer brakes. Since the brakes are working like they should you are totally fine!
