I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8 engine and 3.08 axle ratio and it lists a maximum trailer weight of 6,500 pounds if you have the 2WD model or 6,200 pounds if you have 4WD. I do still recommend verifying this in your copy of the manual or by visiting a local Chevy dealer with your VIN.
If you are looking to tow a standard bumper pull trailer and don't yet have a hitch installed I recommend the etrailer.com Class IV # e98860 that will use existing holes in the truck's frame for a no-drill installation. I really like the unique matte black finish on this hitch that provides a rugged look (and also resists cuts and abrasions). It is also made right here in the USA.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
If you are wanting to tow a 5th wheel trailer and are able to find one that falls under the truck's capacity then I recommend the Curt A16 Slider Hitch # C16521 along with the Custom Installation Kit # C16400-204. The A16 is an excellent hitch that features an interlocking 2-jaw system for a secure connection with the trailer and a quiet ride. Its fully articulating head helps ease the hookup process and the non-binding slider will provide you 12 inches of front to back travel for cab clearance during sharp turns (assuming you have the 6-1/2 foot bed).
I have included a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
