What Typically Causes Porpoising with Fifth Wheel Towing
Question:
I have the bandw installed in a 2016 Chevy 3500 crew cab dually, and it has the porpoising affect with my Montana fifth wheel. I installed the hitch as recommended by manufacture, is there anything else I can do to stop it? It happens when the trailer is empty or loaded.

Expert Reply:
The main reason for porpoising when towing a fifth wheel trailer is too low of pin weight in the trailer. If there's a way you could increase your pin weight by moving the weight in the trailer forward you should see the porpoising decrease. You should also check to make sure your trailer is setting as level as possible.
