Front Hitch Receiver and Winch Mount Plate for 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4
Question:
As mentioned above I have a 1998 4x4 Tahoe Sport 2 door model. I am proposing installing a 2inch receiver assembly that can also be used for an additional winch mount system at 10,000 lbs rated pull line. Can you advise me what is the correct type for this vehicle.

The Curt Front Mount 2 Inch Hitch, part # 31042, that you have referenced, is the only front hitch I have that will fit your 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4. It has a line pull rating of 9,000 lbs, so if you use a winch with a 10,000-lb line pull rating you will be limited to the lower 9,000-lb rating of the hitch. I am including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt hitch.
To install the winch to the hitch you will need the Curt Electric Winch Mount Plate, part # C31010. This plate has holes for installation of most major winch models. With the winch attached to the mount plate you will then be able to insert the mount plate into the Curt front hitch receiver.
If you need to move the mount plate with the winch installed, from the front hitch to the rear hitch, I would recommend the Curt Winch Mount Handles, part # C31005. These handles bolt to the mount plate and will help you when moving the winch from the front to the rear.
