Can a Fifth Wheel Hitch Be Installed on a 2007 Toyota Tundra with a Roll Top Tonneau Cover
Question:
I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. The Bed is 6 foot 5 inches with the tailgate closed. Can I have a 5th Wheel hitch installed? I also have a roll top cover on it. Can I keep it?

You can install a fifth wheel hitch on your vehicle as long as it is a slider fifth wheel. You should also be able to keep the cover as long as you can fully roll it up when towing the trailer.
You will need an install kit to solidly attach the fifth wheel to your truck. The install kit for your 2007 Toyota Tundra is part # RP30035-309 from Reese.
Since you have a 6 foot 5 inch bed, you will need to use a Slider hitch so that you can have some extra clearance when maneuvering in tighter places. Depending on the weight of the trailer you could use the following sliding fifth wheels from Reese: part # RP30051, part # RP30084 and part # RP30083.
I have added links to these products below as well as instructions for the install kit and a video of the kit being installed on a 2009 Tundra.
