When installing the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP50081-58 that you referenced the rear edge of the rear rail will be exactly 28-11/16 inches from the rear edge of the truck's bed. You should note that this rail kit is for a 2004 to 2014 Ford F-150. This measurement is correct for all truck bed lengths of the F-150. This puts the center of the fifth wheel king pin approximately 2-1/4 inches forward of the rear axle.
Since you have a 2008 Ford Super Duty short bed you'd instead need the rail kit # RP50082-58 which the rear rail of this kit installs 32-1/4 inches from the rear of the truck bed.
You'll then use the hitch then to place the front rail.
