Yes, you can use Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch and Slider, part # RP30051, with your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. You will need an install kit to complete the installation. An install kit typically includes a set of brackets that attach to the truck frame and a set of rails that sit in the bed and bolt through the bed to the brackets below.
You have two options when it comes to install kits. The first is a Universal Install Kit, like part # RP30035. The universal kits will fit virtually any full size truck, but they require more time to install and drilling the truck frame.
The other option is a custom fit that is designed around your truck frame. The Custom Install Kit for your 2006 Silverado is part # RP50064-58. It will dramatically reduce install time when compared to a universal kit and requires no truck frame drilling.
I have added links to these kits and their instructions below as well as a video of the custom kit being installed on a 2006 Silverado 2500.
