Dual Hitch Adapter Recommendation that has 4,000 lb Towing Capacity
Question:
I have a tow dolly. When my car is loaded, the whole thing weighs around 4K lbs. The bike rack with bikes may weigh 175lbs. Is GTW Gross Tongue Weight or Gross Tow Weight? This hitch atdapter has a GTW of 3500 lbs. If this is not a suitable application, is there a duel hitch receiver that would work?

I would recommend the Roadmaster # RM-077-2 Dual Hitch Receiver which is designed for flat towing a vehicle or tow dolly and using the upper receiver for a bike rack. This is suitable for up to 10,000 towing weight and 400 pounds tongue weight. Requires a 5/8 inch hitch pin and clip like the JR Products # 37201074.
