Higher Capacity Trailer Tire Recommendation for 2018 BigHorn Traveler by Heartland
Question:
I have a 43 foot, 2018 BigHorn Traveler by Heartland. The Max. VWR is 16,000 lbs. It currently has Rainer ST235/85R16 12 ply load range F tires on it. Max. 3960 lbs. at 95 psi. The wheels are SUMMIT aluminum 16x6 8-6.5 load capacity 3750. I am taking a trip to Alaska next summer and am wondering if I should upgrade to WestLake ST235/85R16 14 ply load range G tires and will my current wheels handle them? Regards,

If your trailer is loaded to it's max weight you'd want tires with a higher weight capacity since your current setup would not allow the full capacity your trailer would need.
The Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire Load Range G # PRG80235 has a weight capacity of 4,080 lbs at 110 psi so it would be ideal if you are near the weight limit of your trailer. These do require 110 psi which most likely your current valve stems would be rated for that, but for a higher rated valve stem we have the part # AM20906 which is rated for up to 200 psi. Your wheel should handle the pressure no problem and it's typically the valve stem that is the limiting factor.
