Weight Capacity of Rack Em Single Hook Rack Part # RA8

Question:

I have a 15 foot tent for shows that has approx 15 poles that weigh 3-4 lbs each and are 10 foot in length. Would a couple of these hooks hold them or is their a better product offered?

I spoke with one our our friends at RackEm, the manufacturer of the Single Hook Rack, part # RA-8.

He told me that although there is no specific weight capacity listed, he is more than confident that the hook should have no problem handling the 60 or so pounds you describe. He told me that in the past for demonstration purposes, he has actually hung from the hook with no bending or breakage. If the hook can hold a man, your tent poles should not pose a challenge.

You did not mention the diameter of the poles themselves. The hook measures 4-1/2 inches wide at the top and 4 inches deep (see photo). If that will not accommodate the poles, a piece of rope or an axle strap like part # 58506 could be used to bundle the poles. The rope or the rings on the end of the axle strap could be looped through the hook.
