Solution for 12 Volt Accessory Circuit Not Active on a Truck
Question:
I have trailer lights always on but no power on the auxiliary connection, this happens on every trailer i hook, so i assume the problem is on the truck. I drive a 2002 Freightliner Century, checked all fuses and they are ok. thanks

One option you have would be to bypass the factory wiring and run your own 12 volt circuit straight to the battery. You would need 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 sold by the foot and a breaker like part # 9510. You would just run the wire from the 12 volt pin of the 7-way at the rear of the vehicle up to the positive post of the battery through the breaker. This gives you a guaranteed way to activate the circuit and eliminates any guesswork.
