Where To Attach the Awning Rail for a Slide Topper on a 2011 Keystone Outback 260FL
Question:
I am mounting a solara slide topper. If I put the brackets against the T molding at least some of the screws will not hit solid structure but only have the fiberglass to hold on to. Should I move it up or is that OK. Also, should the rail be moved up high to hit structure or again is the fiberglass enough grip? Thanks

According to the installation instructions for the Solera 12.5' Slider part # LCV000177334, the awning rail will need to be positioned along the line where the roof and wall meet or a minimum of 3" above the upper edge of the slide room. If this position does not allow for you to grab onto solid structure which is what Lippert recommends then you can go a bit higher if needed (around 1"). I spoke with Lippert about this issue and they recommend that you contact the trailer manufacturer to see where is the best place to attach the awning rail.
