Troubleshooting Brake Controller Install Where Output Circuit Pulses Circuit Tester
Question:
The 2008 GMC factory pigtail has an issue. The blue wire which activates the electric trailer brake will come on momentarily and go out. If you wait a second or so and test it again the exact same intermittent flash occurs. You can do this ten times and it will flash once the same way. Any thoughts? Thank you very much!

The brake output circuit of any brake controller will periodically pulse the output circuit to see if a trailer is connected. What you are seeing is most likely that function. What happens when you connect a trailer with brakes to the tow vehicle? It sounds like you may have a controller that is working properly as-is.
