Installing the Stop Light Switch Kit RM-751459 On a 2016 Ford C-Max

Question:

Ok, I have everything pretty well installed on my 2016 C-Max, Air Reservoir, brake switch, etc. Next question, I need to run the wiring from the brake switch to the supplemental braking system, which means through the firewall into the engine compartment. I watched your video on installing the brake switch and it ends without showing how this was done. Can you tell me how you ran the wire from the brake switch through the firewall into the engine compartment?

In regards to the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit part # RM-751459 which is a requirement for the Roadmaster BrakeMaster Braking System part # RM-9100 on your 2016 Ford C-Max, there is indeed a 12 volt power wire that needs to be run through the firewall from the positive terminal on the battery or fuse box to the switch. I watched the video that you referenced and as you stated it doesn't exactly show where the wire was ran through the firewall. However, with my personal experience in routing wires through the firewall I can almost bet they used the main body harness. I can't exactly see under the dash to point this out but there will be a large bundle of wires that run from the cab into the engine bay somewhere. Basically, you will want to use a paperclip or something similar to poke a hole into the grommet so that you can run the power wire for the switch. I wish I could tell you exactly where we routed the wire but I don't have access to this information. However, if you find a bundle of wires and trace them to the point where they lead into the engine bay you will find a suitable place to run the wire.
