Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2012 Toyota Prius and Hollywood Racks Sports Rider SE2 E-Bike
Question:
Hollywood Sports Rider SE2 on a 2012 prius Hello, the only rack that can carry my Xtracycle Edgerunner electric cargo bike is the Hollywood Sports Rider SE2. The rack requires a class 2 hitch. All the racks that Ive found for prius are class 1 hitch with a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. The total weight I plan to carry is at most 150 lbs. The bike weights 70 lbs plus the weight of the rack of 80 lbs. So the total is 150 lbs. Does this mean I can use a class 1 hitch to use the Hollywood Sports Rider SE2 to carry my cargo bike?

There is one custom fit trailer hitch receiver for your 2012 Toyota Prius that will work with your Xtracycle Edgerunner electric cargo bike and carrier because a Class I hitch is not compatible. My recommendation is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 306-X7178 which has a 300 lb capacity. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver to allow use of 2 inch accessories so you are only limited by the tongue weight capacity.
This trailer hitch is compatible with the Hollywood Sports Rider SE2 # HLY84FR which weighs 63 lbs.
