Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 1998 Dodge Ram
Question:
With my tow package fit on my 98 ram if I pull it from a 2000 Durango

The factory tow package usually contains both a trailer hitch and trailer wiring harness so I will assume these are the parts you are referring to but for future reference they do not always contain the same components. The trailer hitch from your 2000 Dodge Durango WILL NOT fit your 1998 Dodge Ram as they do not share the same frame but I do have an option for you. For your Ram I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75101 which is a custom fit and has a 5,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight rating.
The trailer wiring harness from your 2000 Dodge Durango WILL ALSO NOT fit your 1998 Dodge Ram as they do not have the same trailer connector port in the rear. For your Ram I recommend using the Draw-Tite 7-Way Pre-Wired Car Connector part # 20023 which will then get spliced into the vehicle's wiring harness.
If you need any other parts for your Ram please just let me know but as the Durango is an entirely different vehicle most will not interchange.
