For your 2002 Lincoln Navigator I recommend you choose a brake controller based on the style desired inside your vehicle. If you want absolutely no changes to the inside of your vehicle, you can use the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 which will use a mobile app for setup and manual override. If you want a hardwired system with minimal change to the dash of your vehicle, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR which has a small dash insert option and uses the hardwired box in a more hidden location. This will use the wiring harness # 3035-S to that port under your dash you referenced.
If you want more the traditional brake controller location, then I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195 which is extremely well made and will give you the LCD screen for easy diagnostics. This is the area this controller surpasses those other options where they obviously have a nicer look. This controller will use harness # 3035-P to plug into the factory port under your dash.
I've attached some videos to help with your decision.
