Location of Brake Controller Plug on 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Can you help me with the location of the factory plug that the Tekonsha 3064-P harness plugs into? The dealer does not know where it is, says the truck is too new! 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Tekonsha Prodigy 3

I took a look at the owner's manual for the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3064-P which plugs into your Prodigy P3 # 90195 trailer brake controller and it says the harness for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 "will be located underneath the dash and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. There will be a 14-pin connector that mates with the one on the adapter."

The accompanying cut out of the directions shows exactly where the plug should be. I have added a link to the instruction manual so you can take a look for yourself.

As an aside, competent car dealers should be able to tell you exactly where the plug is in a truck that has been available to the public for more than half a year (as of this writing); it may be wise to consider other options for maintenance or other work that needs to be done on the truck.

The factory brake controller port on your 2020 Silverado should actually be located in the same area described above (under the dash to the left of the steering column) for the 2019 model. If you're having trouble finding it please let me know.
