Can Long Ball Mount be Used with Curt Dual Receiver Adapter
Question:
I am looking for a way to use a hitch bike rack while towing my popup camper. I was hoping to use something like #MT70066 but I am pretty sure my bike rack will extend too close to my camper. Now I am thinking of getting this adapter D-192 and then using an extra long ball mount like #bm20. Is there any concern using an extra long ball mount like that with this dual adapter? I think this would give me the extra space I need.

An extra long ball mount like the Brophy # BM20 that you referenced can indeed be used with the Curt Dual Receiver Adapter # D-192 and will provide you with a good solution to gaining the clearance you need in front of the trailer for your bike rack. The longer ball mount shouldn't be an issue with the adapter but one thing you will need to keep in mind is that using the Curt Dual Receiver Adapter is going to cut the trailer hitch capacity by 50 percent.
This is really the case with any hitch-mounted adapter.
This means if the hitch on your tow vehicle has a 3,500 pound towing and 350 pound tongue weight limit these capacities will be reduced to 1,750 pounds and 175 pounds respectively. As long as you stay under your reduced limits with the combined weight of the trailer and loaded rack this setup will work great.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products that you can check out.
