Can Rear Jacks of Lippert Ground Control 3.0 be Placed Closer or Further Than 12" from Tire
Question:
I am mounting my system. I have plumbing issues with getting the rear jacks 12 inch behind the wheels. I can go 8 inch which is probably to close to the wheel or 28. Is it acceptable for the rear jacks to be 34 inch behind the wheels?

I spoke with my contact about the 8" and 28" or 34" placement of the rear jacks as opposed to the 12" placement of the rear jacks for installing the Lippert 3.0 # LC358590 on your 5th wheel trailer and he said that the further measurements of 28" - 34" are definitely not recommended because you will likely hit the ground with them when you are on inclines (see attached photo).
When it comes to the 8" location there are some OEM manufacturers that will move the rear jack closer to the tire due to plumbing like your situation but Lippert doesn't recommend doing this because in the event that you have a tire blow it could take out that jack.
So the 8" placement is more promising than the 28" or 34" placement but you are still running risks of tire damage. I wish I could give you the go ahead but ultimately the decision is up to you.
