How to Raise a Cargo Carrier for Ground Clearance on a Volkswagen Tiguan  

Question:

I have cargo carrier part # e98874 attached to my Tiguan hitch part # C13381. Im looking for something like this high/low adapter Item # BX88129 to raise the carrier and give it more ground clearance. Cargo carrier sits pretty low now and scrapes my driveway. Would this set-up work? Thanks!

I recommend the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2 Inch receiver part # D210 to raise your etrailer cargo carrier part # e98874. The Curt ball mount has a receiver above the ball mount that will raise your cargo carrier 3-9/16 inches off of the ground to avoid scraping the driveway. The Curt Multipurpose ball mount with extra receiver does reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch part # C13381 by 50 percent. That does include the weight of the cargo carrier.
