For the best 5th wheel hitch compatible with your Ram puck system and short bed I recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 21,000 lbs # DM8550035 along with the Rail Adapter for Ram OEM pucks # DM6099. This combination will utilize your puck system, give you the capacity you desire, and will allow you to stay inside the cab of your truck when making turns even around gas pumps or backing into your campsite. The automatic slider senses the pressure as the head turns as you drive to determine the clearances needed. This system makes it extremely simply to travel and doesn't make you get out in the cold or rain simply because you have a short bed truck.
If you want the manual slider, then the best option is the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3670. This hitch is made to fit your OEM pucks without another adapter and will load in two parts. This is a customer favorite for a manual slider.
I've attached a few videos of each of these options to assist. They are both extremely well made in the USA. You may also want to consider adding a 7-way trailer wiring connection to the bed of your truck using # A10-7007 for easy connection access and a really clean look.
